Our Legacy of High-Quality Service for Every Family

In 1876, our funeral home began bringing area families memorable funeral services. Since then, we’ve continued to provide personalized assistance through our funeral, burial, and cremation services. Our Astoria neighbors know they can depend on us when a loved one dies. Our attentive and compassionate team guides family members through this uncertain and difficult time. We help plan every detail of a loved one’s service, so you’ll have peace of mind knowing every facet has been thoughtfully considered.

Our History of Family Ownership

Funeral home Owner Gus Antonopoulos is proud to be born and raised in Astoria. He spent his youth working at his family funeral home being mentored by our former owner, Felix A. Farenga. This mentorship led Gus to discover his passion for shepherding local families through life’s most trying times. He is deeply honored to serve grieving families and considers it his life’s calling. In 1998, Felix passed Farenga Funeral Homes down to Gus after Gus attended St. John’s University and the American Academy-McAllister Institute of Funeral Service. Gus is proud to continue this legacy of family-focused care across the variety of funeral service options at Farenga.
