I am so sorry to hear of you loss. Charlie was very good to my Auntie Ann Nolan Anselmi before she moved to Boston. Many stories of the Deli, Charlie, & Kris Ann would share with me. Ann passed away a year ago, but I know she would feel the same. I know that the three of them are together looking down on all of us. May god bless you and your family, Elaine Floman (Ann's niece)

I've known Charlie since I was a kid, and now I have a kid of my own. It's difficult to think of someone who's been part of your life almost weekly. Everyone who I have ever brought to Charlie's always left loving him and his approach to life. Nothing was too serious, except for how we treat each other. Everyone who went into the shop was treated with respect and generousity by Charlie. I remember one day I didn't have enough money and I told him I would come back in a few minutes with what I owed. Charlie gave me the money back and told me to bring it back next time. I asked him why, and he said he didn't want me to not have any money in my pocket. He was a true gentleman in every sense. Will be surely missed.

My sincerest condolences to Chris and family. Met Chris and Charlie when I was 17, he was 21. He would come into the deli next door from the bakery with a 2 foot freshly baked Italian bread and would say "fill it up pal". I added all his favorite cold cuts inside. Years later he would return the favor by making everyone his own famous sandwich "The bomb". I will always remember him.
