I remember going to Kallimasia for the first time in 1970, when I was 4 years old. And I remember the first face I recognized in this strange new place - Pete's. I remember a big blue Buick Skylark, and how Pete drove with his hand in his lap and one thumb on the bottom of the steering wheel. I remember how surprised I was as a kid when Pete grew his moustache. I remember when Pete and his family moved from Jackson Heights to a house right around the corner from us. I remember many Easters and Thanksgivings in that house. I remember Pete working in the same office as my father. I remember a friendly, good-natured man who loved his family and was generous to those around him. I remember Pete. "My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever." Psalm 73:26
