Salvatore B. Carlino
visitation
mass
Salvatore Carlino passed away in the early morning of May 18th from a heart attack. He was and will always be remembered by his family and friends for his big heart, exceptional generosity, and rich inner world – one that valued imagination, a good book, and music. In his youth Salvatore served in the Army and was stationed in Panama on an extended tour. Here he had many wonderful experiences which he spoke fondly about and even had the opportunity to travel the country and go once to Mardi Gras. In life he was a loyal civil servant for the US Postal Service, where he worked for 40 years. He immensely enjoyed reading and had an extensive collection of books; his favorite genres were Science Fiction, Fantasy and the classics. He also enjoyed listening to classical music and the opera. In his life, he was a devoted son to his mother and best friend Anna, whom he took care of in her old age before she passed. Salvatore was a loving brother and uncle, and a beautiful soul. He is survived by his brother and sister, Robert and Marilyn, their spouses, Sally and John, his nephews and nieces, Erica, Matthew, Lorraine, and John, their children, and the many other cousins and friends who loved him. Although he never had children of his own; Salvatore cherished his family and was an incredible Uncle, who encouraged creativity, imagination and thought. He will be greatly missed.
